Whereas:Waiting periods are an unconstitutional infringement on the Second Amendment; and
Whereas:      Waiting periods have been completely debunked as a means of stopping violent crime, as most recent mass shooters waited the required number of days to buy their firearms; and
Whereas:      Waiting periods have resulted in many people -- usually women -- being murdered while waiting an arbitrary number of days to be able to buy a gun; and
Whereas:      Waiting periods are not about safety, but are just another part of Andrew Cuomo’s war against gun owners and the Second Amendment;
Therefore:      As a law-abiding voter, I demand you publicly oppose, block in committee and vote 'NO' on any attempt to pass unconstitutional waiting periods here in New York.
